Tip Of The Day: The Importance Of The Casting Session

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post one of my Tip Of The Day videos, as I’ve been swamped with work over the summer, but my latest instalment in this series covers a topic that is universally important to any type of narrative filmmaker – The casting process.

I wrote an article a couple of months ago the discussed the importance of casting, but wanted to re-iterate my thoughts here and expand on things a bit further. It goes without saying that casting is an extremely important facet of any filmmakers process… Most of us recognize that. And most of us also recognize that our casting choices have a larger affect on our final product than any other choice that we make while creating a film. Yet even with this knowledge, so many filmmakers neglect to spend enough time or effort finding the right cast for their films, and ultimately they regret their choices once it is too late. Watch the video below for my thoughts.
