This past Sunday on my weekly newsletter, I announced my brand new educational website for filmmakers – NoamKrollAcademy.com – As well as my latest video course for filmmakers: Audience Building For Creative Entrepreneurs.
I’ll start with the course… Which is a project I’ve had in the works for months.
At the onset, there were a lot of topics I could have tackled, but I chose audience building for a few important reasons:
1. The distribution and sales landscape for independent films has changed dramatically in the past few years, and having ownership and autonomy over our own work is more critical than ever. Strategically building an audience for your creative work is one of the most effective steps you can take in finding career sustainability (and profitability).
2. Entrepreneurial filmmakers have more ability than ever to create great work on very low budgets and sell projects traditionally, or via self-distribution. In either case though, a built-in audience is mandatory in order to maximize odds of a successful release. There isn’t a single filmmaker who wouldn’t be better off without an audience, yet there are so few resources on the topic.
3. With the right approach and a willingness to follow a specific course of action, virtually any filmmaker is capable of building an audience – an asset that will likely pay dividends for years to come. And if there’s ever been a time to self-educate, now is it.
With all of this in mind, I’ve been extremely eager to share this educational resource with the filmmaking community, which is now officially launching.

My goal with the course is to arm each enrolled filmmaker with a simple, proven step-by-step strategy for building their own audience. An audience that they can deliver true value to and build a community around, and that will support their creative endeavors in turn.
It took me years of trial and error to develop a system that achieves the above. If I were to start over today, I could get there 10x faster by focusing on what’s most essential and not wasting precious effort in the wrong areas.
This is why I’ve distilled down everything I know to be true of audience building into this course, to save you countless months or years of experimentation and help you build an incredibly valuable audience for your creative work.
