I am thrilled to release the world’s first professional grade 65mm film grain! And it’s on sale for the next 48 hours only, along with my brand new 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm film grains too.
While there are other film grain options out there, the vast majority of them are created entirely using digital tools. They simply don’t have the look and feel of true motion picture film, because they are 100% digital.
Even the few “real” film grains available on the market are no match for the consistency, quality, resolution, and results that the CINECOLOR film grain can offer. Not to mention, there really is no other option for the 65mm look!
This grain (available now at www.cinecolor.io) was hand crafted frame by frame, using ultra high-res scans from real Kodak motion picture film, and enhanced with a proprietary post-production process that yields unmatched results.
I’m certain that literally no other grain on the market can compete.
Each of our film grain files are mastered in 6K resolution, for maximum versatility no matter what camera or format you may be working with.
The 8mm and 16mm grains are perfect for adding a more obvious stylistic/vintage effect to your imagines, whereas the 35mm and 65mm grain will deliver a magnificent, high end contemporary aesthetic.
The 65mm grain in particular is unbelievably clean – so much so that I would easily use it on commercial productions that ordinarily wouldn’t require grain. It adds a subtle filmic layer to every image it’s applied to, and is addictive to use.
All of the grain files are ProRes 6K (6144 x 3456 resolution), with a native 16:9 aspect ratio. And each file has been carefully calibrated to ensure the correct grain size and density, so that you don’t need to adjust any settings once applied to achieve a realistic film look.
The grains can be purchased individually on the Film Grain Collection page on my CINECOLOR website, or bundled as a set in the Film Grain Masterpack.
***Until 08/15/20 only, you can pick up the Film Grain Masterpack for 20% off! This is the lowest cost you’ll be able to purchase this pack for, so be sure to get yours before the pricing goes back up.
Enjoy!

atHi Noam.
Nice product and one that was sorely needed at this film gauge and at over 4k resolution.
I did have some questions. How long are the film grain video files? Do the instructions include how to manipulate the film grain files to create push or pull effects? Do the instructions include how to manipulate the grain files to control the size/prominence of the grain within a single shot according to areas of highlights, midtowns, and shadows? I’m guessing each pack has video files of the given film gauge shot at various ISOs.
Maybe one of your really informative blog posts about how to best use your film grains on a project would be worthwhile? I know I’d appreciate it.
Once again, seems like an excellent and useful product. Congratulations on this and on your film, “Psychosynthesis,” being on Amazon Prime.

atSorry for the very late reply, Andrew. The files are 15s in length and do contain instructions, although not specific instructions for push/pull effects. Appreciate your kind words about the film!
