Over the last year or so, I’ve been developing a feature film and am very excited to announce that we are finally moving into pre-production in early January! The film is a dramatic thriller that will shoot sometime in the late spring or early summer of 2016 in Los Angeles, CA. We have a fantastic story/script, a great team attached, and an exciting festival and distribution strategy in place.
Seeing as this film will be made in a truly independent spirit, I decided to open up the door in various ways to allow the readers of NoamKroll.com to get involved with this feature.
For starters, I will be documenting the entire process of making this feature film on the blog – from finishing the final draft of the script, to casting, to production, and so forth. The goal is to share my experiences with all of you so that you can understand some of the trials and tribulations of making an independent film, and apply that knowledge to your own work. Over the coming months you can expect to find behind the scenes photos/videos, interviews with some of our cast and crew members, copies of our materials (scripts, shot lists, etc.), and other exciting blog posts centered around the film. I really want this process to be transparent and for the readers here to get a step by step view of exactly how this film is going to get made.
Join The Team
I am a firm believer that you can learn a lot more on a film set than you will ever learn in a classroom. There really is no substitute for the amount of artistic craft, technical knowledge, set etiquette, and personal development that comes along with real filmmaking experience. With that in mind, I decided to open up a very select few spots both on set and in the editing room, for individuals to shadow myself and my crew on this feature film production.
If this is something interests you, please e-mail me at info@noamkroll.com to inquire about reserving a spot. Be sure to tell me a bit about yourself, your interest in filmmaking, and why you think you could benefit from shadowing us during our filmmaking process. As submissions are received, I will respond to any and all inquiries to discuss things in further detail.
Additionally, we are also gearing up to launch a crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter which will likely go live towards the end of next month. We will offer many perks including copies of the film, tickets to the premiere, producer credits, and many other perks that will allow you to support the film and come on board with this journey.
Seeing as this will be my first time running a crowdfunding campaign, I would also love to hear about what you want to see from us on Kickstarter, and specifically what sort of perks would be most exciting for you. Feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts on this so I can custom tailor our crowdsourcing efforts to involve as many readers of this blog as possible.
Looking forward to working with some of you on this feature film in 2016!!
